Sir,

I have the honour to inform you that in my

capacity as Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce I have been

favoured by the Hongkong Government with copies of Mr.

Ainscough's confidential reports upon "The Conditions and Prospects of British Trade in China" and upon "The Probable Position of British Trade in the Far East after the War“,

both of which reports have been placed in the Library of the Hongkong General Chamber of Commerce.

I have made application to the Colaial Searetary here for a further supply of these and am informed that only two copies of each reached the Government.

As such reports are of considerable value to

the British commercial community, I shall be glad if it is at all possible to be supplied with twelve copies of each and any future reports of a similar nature for confidential distribution to the members of the Chamber of Commerce

Committee.

I have etc.,
